The Spectrum Convention Series, the flagship initiative of the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), Chennai Branch, is one of India’s leading platforms dedicated to advancing Supply Chain Management (SCM). Since its launch in 2008, Spectrum has grown from a convention into a vibrant knowledge-sharing movement, bringing together industry leaders, academicians, professionals, and students under a common vision of supply chain excellence.
Conceived in response to the rapidly evolving business landscape driven by globalization, technology, and complex supply networks, Spectrum was created to provide a dedicated forum for exchanging ideas, discussing challenges, and exploring innovative supply chain solutions. Originally planned as a biennial event, the overwhelming response from the SCM community led to it becoming an annual flagship convention.
Over the years, Spectrum has become a premier knowledge platform known for thought leadership, technical sessions, workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. It has played an important role in strengthening industry–academia collaboration while recognizing excellence and innovation across the supply chain profession. Participation from sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, healthcare, retail, infrastructure, and technology has made Spectrum a truly inclusive and impactful forum.
The 18th edition – Spectrum 2026 is themed “Reimagining Supply Chains with AI.” The convention will focus on how Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies are transforming supply chains through intelligent planning, predictive analytics, automation, and enhanced resilience. Key topics include AI-enabled optimization, intelligent logistics, sustainable supply chain practices, and emerging technologies such as Gen AI, IoT, and Blockchain.
With its continuing commitment to excellence, innovation, and collaboration, the Spectrum Convention Series remains a cornerstone of supply chain knowledge and professional development in India.
